what are essential oils
Essential oils are oils extracted from a plant through distillation. They’re basically a super-potent plant extract that has all of the benefits of the actual plant! They can be used to support your emotions and physical wellness, and can be used topically, aromatically, and internally IF the oils are marked safe for consumption. They’re basically a miracle oil that balances your system and can help with pretty much anything. Chances are, if something in your life or body is off, there’s an oil for that!
why young living
I decided to go with Young Living instead of any other brand for a few reasons. First of all, I fell in love with their Seed to Seal guarantee. Young Living is the only oil brand that owns their own farms, so they can ensure that no pesticides or other harmful chemicals come into contact with the plants from the time they’re seeds all the way to when they’re bottled! (They actually use essential oils to keep the bugs away! Who knew?)
I was also really interested in Young Living’s Vitality line. Most people will tell you that it’s not safe to ingest essential oils, but Young Living has a special line of oils that’s specifically meant for ingestion! They’re considered a dietary supplement and they’re totally safe to put in your water, to take in capsule form, or to add to your food. I really wanted to be able to use oils this way, so that’s why I chose Young Living.
They’ve also been around for the longest time of any company – twenty years! I know people who have personal experience with Young Living and I trusted their opinions, which helped me make my decision.
young living seems expensive…
What I’ve learned in my essential oils journey so far is that there is no way to produce essential oils that’s both cheap AND natural. The inexpensive oils you see at the grocery store have likely been sourced from questionable farms or processed with chemicals that are designed to speed up the process. Trust me when I say you don’t want those anywhere near your body!
If you have another brand you live and are loyal to, that’s fine! Just do your research and look into their processed. Ask questions about how the oils are made so you can make a well-informed decision about how to use them.
how do I buy essential oils?
With Young Living, there are a few options. If you want to buy the oils at their discounted wholesale price, you will need to purchase a starter kit first. The Premium Starter Kit is BY FAR the best deal. Our team website, Oiltuition, has a great breakdown of what comes in the various starter kits in case you’re having trouble deciding!
Buying this kit is sort of like paying a membership fee. Once you’re in, all you have to do in order to maintain your membership is to place an order of 50 PV (about $50) ONCE per year. That’s it!
If you want to enroll in their Essential Rewards program, where you get store credit back with your purchase, you do have to place a monthly order of at least 50 PV. Trust me when I say this is SO easy to do. Young Living doesn’t just sell essential oils, they also carry household cleaners, laundry detergents, skincare, shampoos and soaps, oral care products, and accessories! Basically all you’re doing is swapping our your monthly Target run with a super simple online order.
If you don’t want to purchase a starter kit, you can buy the oils at retail price. However, this option is the most expensive and it adds up fast!
