a look back on february 2016

I know this is the part where I say, “March already! Where did the time go?” but to be honest, February was a long, hard month that did not fly by in the slightest and I’m happy it’s over. Not that I didn’t have fun this month, of course, but the stress definitely got the better of me a little bit! At least now it’s satisfying to look back at all I did (and be thankful that I don’t still have it all on my to-do list!)

Some of my biggest challenges this month were:

  • moving. I had one month to find a new apartment, pack up my childhood home, and move all of my things into storage. I’m currently staying with relatives until I can move into my apartment next weekend 🙂
  • work. I know jobs are usually stressful, but this month piled more on my plate at my day job than I’ve ever had before – it felt like every day was something new that was not part of my job description, but I did it all anyway. Whew!
  • money. Now that I’ll have to pay rent again, I need to be a LOT stricter with my finances. This apartment is really expensive and that makes me nervous, but honestly I think it’s worth it to have a one-bedroom of my own – I’m not a roommate person!!

Some of my successes this month were:

  • planning my first-ever e-course! I have high hopes for this one, and if it goes well I’d love to do more in the future.
  • finishing the Tarot Self-Love Challenge from Instagram! I didn’t post my draws every day, but I DID journal about them all. Excited to start Black and the Moon’s Major Arcana Challenge in March!

Some things that made me happy this month:

  • my boyfriend surprised me with a sweet little Valentine’s Day celebration. I was totally not expecting anything, as I’ve never celebrated the day in my past relationships, but it really meant the world that he had put so much thought into it (and then we ate ALL the pasta from Olive Garden, so like, can’t complain there!)
  • said boyfriend and I started a weekly tradition of Champagne Saturdays! It’s mostly an excuse to pop some bubbly, but also a way to reflect on and celebrate the successes of the week.
  • pizza with LOTS of veggies!
  • getting outside for a long walk for the first time since, you know, November. It’s just been too cold for me to want to go adventuring, but I had a blast in the woods last weekend!

Things I’m looking forward to in March:

  • getting moved in! I loved having the chance to live with my parents for a while and get back on my feet, but I really missed having my own apartment.
  • launching my e-course tomorrow! (if you haven’t signed up already, do it! ahh!!)
  • grocery shopping. As weird as that sounds, I was super not in control of my diet while I was living with my parents. I’m excited to have control over what’s in the house and start making some healthier choices!

What were your highlights of the month? 🙂

  1. I love your website! It's so pretty. And purple is my favorite color! Congratulations on your first e-course that is amazing, certainly an accomplishment for the month!!
